APTA & AMBUCS “Mentor for Success” Scholarship Program

APTA, ASHA, and AOTA are partnering with AMBUCS in their new program,
“Mentor for Success.” This program is an expansion of AMBUCS existing
Scholars-Scholarships for Therapists program and is designed to foster and
encourage students’ development by helping them make appropriate
educational choices for their respective career paths. Each student will be
matched with a qualified professional from his or her indicated career
path. APTA will recruit and manage the mentors for the physical therapy
students in the program. AMBUCS will maintain a database of participating
mentors and students and will collect and evaluate reports, surveys, etc,
to evaluate the program and measure outcomes. If you are interested in
becoming an AMBUCS mentor, please e-mail sandyridout@apta.org. An
application can be e-mailed, faxed, or mailed to you. Applicants must be an
APTA member and agree to a 2-year commitment. If selected, you will be
asked to maintain communications with the student (by telephone or e-mail),
have a monthly conversation with the student, assist the student in filling
out goal reports, and file appropriate reports (term and end-of-year).
